Daily yoga classes

Enjoy our balanced, holistic and safe Flow classes, suitable for all levels, offered each morning with fluid sequencing of postures, linked with the breath to revitalize and rejuvenate the body, mind, and spirit. Afternoon classes will help you unwind with a more gentle Hatha Flow integrating Restorative/Yin poses, which focus on healing and letting go. Classes are designed to help you develop your own personal practice after you leave the retreat.

Workshops

Topics may  include yogic lifestyle, the science of meditation, Ayurveda, Yoga Nidra, and healthy diet & daily routines. We focus on all things which promote vitality, youthfulness, mental/emotional balance, self-healing and spiritual enlightenment, to help you welcome yoga into your daily life.

Meditation & Pranayama

These intimate group sessions will allow you to learn and practice simple, profound and powerful breath control techniques which allow you to expand your longevity, experience freedom and liberation. A daily meditation practice will bring you into more mindfulness and deepen your connection to the present moment.

Immersion in Nature

Reconnect with nature’s rhythms as you immerse yourself in the stunning natural paradise of turquoise waters and lush jungle forest in this tucked away pedestrian post-card perfect gem. 

Food & Meal Plans

We include 1 daily meal in our Signature Packages, to give students optimal freedom to explore nearby restaurant options

But don’t worry, if you want to just stay close to home and eat only at Bamboo, we offer a meal plan in our retreat Add-Ons and in the Retreat Builder which gives you approximately $15/day of extra food credit at the Bamboo Huts restaurant, enough to keep you going during you time here. Bamboo Huts restaurant is conveniently located, has a big menu of both Thai and Western dishes, and the food is good, very good. Including this in your retreat means you don’t have to worry too much about making sure that you have enough food money while you’re here. 

 At the end of the week if you have spent more at the restaurant than your  meal plan budget, you will be expected to pay the difference.  Please note that this meal plan is non-refundable.

Thailand has arguably some of the world’s best cuisine, and the food options available in our local area is no exception. From healthy, raw and vegan and vegetarian options, to gourmet Western fare, and let’s not forget the local Thai and Burmese specialties. Come and enjoy a culinary symphony which will satiate all appetites at our Thailand yoga retreat, and leave you dreaming of Koh Phangan long after you have gone. In general, you can eat and drink anywhere on the island from $12- 40 USD/day, depending on your appetite and how indulgent you want to be.

Bamboo Huts Restaurant & Lounge, located just 2 minutes walk from the Pure Flow Yoga Studio in Haad Yuan Bay, is renowned for its restaurant. Offering an array of meals (both Western and Thai), and a fully stocked kitchen ready to customize a dish for you, Bamboo offers scrumptious food at affordable prices and you are sure to enjoy the friendly staff, and unimpeded ocean views.

If you’re venturing further then Haad Thien Bay is home to the popular Sanctuary Spa & Health Resort which specializes in a fasting, raw food, and health conscious menu. The Sanctuary’s in house Wellness Center offers a range of products and services. Check it out!

There are several other restaurant in the area all easily accessed through footpaths and all delicious.

What To Bring

  • Water bottle – Filtered water is available. OUR STUDIO IS A DISPOSABLE PLASTIC FREE ZONE in order to promote a plastic free Island and optimal hydration! We will have some beautiful “Flower of Life” water bottles available for sale here
  • Yoga Mat – Yoga mats are available for you to use, however for energetic and hygienic reasons we encourage you to bring your own mats.
  • Yoga Clothes – Comfortable light clothing, for warm weather – Thai style pants are available to buy on the beach and we have some women’s yoga tops available for sale, but other than that the pickings are pretty slim, so come prepared!
  • Notebook & Pen – Bring a journal to take notes, document your journey, and to keep the space high vibe (and technology free). Please bring daily.
  • Sunscreen & Natural mosquito repellent – To protect you (and the environment) Also available for sale on the island
  • Flashlight – To help you see the paths between beaches at night
  • Quality earplugs – For meditation and also for Friday and Saturday nights, which are party nights here in the bay. It is best to come prepared if you are a sensitive sleeper. You can also purchase from pharmacies on the main part of the island
  • Alarm Clock – Its nice to have a simple alarm clock that isn’t your phone so you can have a bit of a digital detox.
  • Spending money for your entire stay – There are no ATMs on our part of the island. You can exchange cash, traveler’s checks, and use your debit card and visa in Had Rin (a 300 Baht boat ride each way) where there are plenty of ATM’s, exchange centers, and banks. We always recommend bringing more than you think you’ll need just to be safe.

Retreat Curriculum

Each week at Pure Flow Yoga is a unique experience that varies depending on the personalities and skill levels present, group and individual intentions and interests, and moon phases and what’s happening in our environment and community.

We see these retreats as a kind of “Yoga 101”, an excellent immersion, foundation and introduction or deepening exploration to the main practices and philosophies of Yoga, a 5000 year old sacred and ancient technology for awakening to our true nature.

Svadyaya

Study of the self is central to what we do here at Pure Flow Yoga. Asking ourselves the big questions and having time to directly contemplate them.

Practice: Daily Journaling

Satsang

Connecting with community is one of our primary values at our Thailand Yoga retreats. Humans are social beings. We learn with and through others. We know ourselves in relation to others. We understand ourselves through our triggers, judgements, and moments of love and compassion with others. We feel more accountable and motivated when we are with others.

Practice: Daily Check-ins

Pranayama Techniques

Prana – life force, Ayama – to control or restrain. Learning how to control or restrain our life force energy is one of the primary ways we can positively impact the nervous system, cultivating states of calm, presence and stress release. Pranayama is one of the most powerful of the yogic practice. In this retreat we will explore some of the following techniques.

Mudra

Considered “Yoga of the hands”, Mudras are energetic seals that help us to cultivate energetic flows and meditative states.

Mantra

Man – mind, Tra – to train or protect. In chanting mantra, we train or protect the mind from harmful, heavy or undreving thoughts – such as judgement, criticism, comparison, obsessions, jealousy… that are not serving us. Through repetition of mantra we train ourselves to move out of the mind and into the heart.

There are as many techniques for meditation as there are people. No technique is necessarily better than the other, but as individuals we want to find the techniques or techniques that we enjoy and that resonate with us, so that we can commit to a daily practice and go deep.

Tuesday : Yoga 101: Philosophy & Living Yoga

Connect to the sacred and ancient wisdom teachings of Yoga to understand different maps of consciousness to help us find more freedom, joy, balance and peace in our lives. Generally, we aim to cover:
